Mortal Kombat.

Mortal kombat is the newest evolution in the MK franchise. It has a large selection of characters that you can whoop ass with, including Freddy Krueger and Kratos. Now this sounds amazing until you realize that this is just a 3d version of games we have already played. Don’t get me wrong the game looks prettier than it ever has but it just feels tired.
Game play
The combat can be very fast paced and frequently frustrating. The big concern I had while playing was the lack of AI intelligence. The computer will attempt to spam with the same move over and over until it finally catches you off guard with it which means you made a mistake or finger slipped. I found the last fight while challenging was still just a finger out his pattern exploit it and move on. Shao Kahn was easily beat with a combination of a teleportation when he attacks and an uppercut when he was mid attack. Literally if you have the game do that tactic and you will win. It's a standard MK game but it just has the problems the old games had which was lack of style options and the computer is just a dick like it always has been.
Storyline
The Storyline was this games one saving grace. For what the game play lacks the cut scenes compensate for. The story is very interesting and has certain twists and turns that make the cut scenes really good.
Features
The features in this game seem different but all in all it’s still Mortal Kombat. You have a challenge tower which is just a long line of combat scenarios that make the already challenging game even more frustrating. I think that midway needs to get back in the saddle and create another game like Deception and even Shoalin Monks.
Other features include the standard ladder fighting, Story mode, Training, and something new to the series which is tag team fighting.
The Results
I am a gamer who likes a certain amount of quality in my games and even the silliest game can be amazing if it’s done right. Now MK is just a game that has been done many times in a variety of ways but you should never go backwards in developing especially when you have already done something that out shined the previous installments. So as to whether I would borrow rent or buy I would say that this game isn't worth the money I would have to say borrow it. It is a fun game the first time through but after it's beaten it gets old in a hurry.
With all that said I would like to give my apologies for being so harsh. Mortal Kombat is a well established gaming franchise that I love and I’m only being hard because this is something that we as consumer should not have to put up with. I can understanding high prices for games but when there is a high price on a game that isn't worth it I feel it's an unacceptable money siphons that has no place draining our precious moolah out of our wallets.
